High Temperature ammonia heat pump Corner Brook Civic Center, NL, Canada

2 NHL size Ice hockey surfaces

Twin Compressor Heat pump producing heating water at 65 - 70°C [150 – 160 °F] using heat rejection from the ice rink refrigeration system as source.

Prior to installation of the heat pump, the Centre relied on oil for heat, which can get costly for such a large building.

Re-using the wasted energy turns into big savings for the city. The estimate for savings is approximately $200,000 a year.

That represents about a one-third cut in the total energy cost for this building.
